4.7.10

I’m still trying! I haven’t quit! I haven’t been blogging as regularly as I should and I haven’t done this perfect, but I am still in this. I am watching what I eat, and tracking calories (during the week) on livestrong. I have also started spinning again! That should help me lose weight faster. I am down about 3 pounds. Still in that stupid abyss between 275 and 262. I will break through. Michael and I are going on some mystery trip in 4 weeks, I am trying to lose 20 pounds by then! Crossing my fingers and giving a good effort.

Day 2

Today is going good so far. I started the day with eggs this morning instead of yogurt and I seem to be more full than yesterday. Thank GOD!

I am tracking my calories on Livestrong – The Daily Plate. I have it set to lose 3.5 pounds a week. (That means I can have about 1300 calories a day).

I finished yesterday with a healthy dinner and the Biggest Loser Cardio Max workout. It was good…but not over the top. I did about 30 minutes of working out total. I would like to increase that to an hour in the next couple weeks.

For today, I feel motivated and confident. I have decided that I want to lose 75 pounds. I feel like that is a good place for me to be. Today it doesn’t feel unattainable. If I pay attention I could reach this goal in a year. Goal for the next 30 days is to lose 20 pounds. I started at 272.6 on Wednesday, today I am at 270.2. I am on my way! 195…here I come!

Again and Again and Again

If the title was a song, I am pretty convinced it would be my theme song. I just keep starting over and over. I mean at least I am starting right?! Sure! The good news is that in the last 5 years I have lost and maintained 20 pounds. The good news is that in 5 years I haven’t gained any weight.

Today, I decided to start 30 days of eating no desserts and no bread. This doesn’t mean that I am not eating any sugars. Just anything that could be classified as dessert and all sodas. Also, I can have pasta and wraps, just no actual bread, muffins, etc. Day one is more than half way over…THANK GOD! It has been pretty difficult. There was the free ice cream at lunch…the yummy looking desserts in the case…the cookies in the lobby at work. UGH! I still sit here eating my clementines and drinking this lemon water. I’m gonna make it.

I debated for an hour about taking off work early just to take a nap. I feel zapped. I know in a week I will probably experience the opposite and have lots more energy.

I am in this so the booths at restaurants aren’t so cozy anymore….Michael brought that up the other day. It made me wonder how I got there and why I never thought about it before. I look forward to some cute jeans from a normal store. That is my goal. Thick and cute…not BIG! 29 1/2 days to go on the fast……lots of years to continue trying to eat better and be active. To today!

Changing my Eating

I have noticed since I started eating better that when I eat “bad foods” I don’t feel good. I had some fried fish yesterday and blah! I really enjoy how good I feel when I am eating healthy and working out! It motivates me to eat even healthier! BTW…this is what I have eaten so far today: Banana soy pudding, banana nut whole grain Cheerios (you like the banana theme, don’t you), a Amy’s southwestern burrito, a small cube or organic gluten free colby cheese and 5 Almond Nut- thins. I have also had 3 glasses of water so far! OH…and….I have lost about 7 pounds in the last 2 weeks!!
Good start to the day!! Here is a recent pic of where I am! Chicago09 002

Doing ok

Today, I woke up freakin late again. I guess I learned to ignore my alarm in Chicago. Anywho…I got up got dressed…got to work 10 minutes late. I didn’t have time to cook my eggs so I grabbed a cup of banana soy pudding for breakfast. I had a mini bag of M& M mini’s again too…I HAVE TO GET THOSE OFF MY DESK! Then for mid morning snack I had a couple honey wheat pretzel sticks and a Chocolate Peppermint Luna bar. I am doing good on water today. For lunch, I just finished an Amy’s whole meal with Cheese enchilada, beans, and corn! That is good stuff! I am not sure about dinner yet…but I am planning to eat heathly. I will keep you posted on that. I have group tonight at my house and I plan to put in a few miles after group. Update tomorrow!

Pretty Good Day

Yesterday was a pretty good day.   I slept right through my 5am alarm to go to my Corekick class…bummer.  I decided to go ahead and sleep a little more and came in to the office at 10.  I made  a couple eggs cooked in coconut oil and added about 2tbsp of goat cheese.  Yummy!  Then for mid morning snack I had 6 honey wheat pretzel sticks and a little hummus.  Oh and there was that mini bag of mini M & M’s.  ;)   For lunch I had a spinach salad with almonds, grapes, carrots, black beans, blue cheese, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, a fuji apple, and a bottle of water!  Pretty healthy lunch.  When I got off work I went to the Y and clocked in 25 minutes on the stair machine….pretty rough!  I was glad I did it though.  I then went to Emmaus to clean out the church.  I had a 100 calorie pack of shortbread cookies there.   We then walked around tent city and I carried a huge bin full of food…so that had to burn some calories..I was sweatin for sure.  After that I was starving.  I stopped at Subway and they were closed so then I went to Sonic :( .  For dinner (at 9..which I know is really late) I had a grilled chicken wrap with light dressing and a grilled cheese sandwhich….healthy eating suicide.  I topped it off with a bottle of water.  When I got home I moved a bunch of stuff in my house from the church which had to burn a good 25 calories ;) !  Overall, it was a good day!

Chicago – Confession Time

So, I just got back from Chicago and here is a summary of my eating/exercise while I was there. I can’t say I ate healthy the entire time, however, I can say that I paid attention! I am proud that I did that!
Here is the rundown:

Thursday:
I skipped breakfast (I know…not good)
For lunch I had some spinach artichoke dip and flat bread, a turkey, brie, pear, honey mustard flat bread from Urban Flats.
For dinner, I had one and 1/2 rolls at O’Charleys, some mashed potatoes (I ate about 1/2 of the large serving), and 1 chipotle chicken tender.
For late night snack (oh man!): I had a steak burrito from a shop in Chi town and man was it yummy! ;)
Thursday was a definite cheat day beginning to end. Good news it I drank a lot of water and only had one little sip of soda all day! I also walked about 2 miles and let me just say walking up that far with luggage is a feat.

Friday: (Birthday day!)
I had lunch around 11:15 at Whole Foods. I ate a curried chicken salad sandwich on wheat with lettuce and tomato, drank a bottle of water then had a medium size caramel gelato.
In the afternoon I had a boston creme doughnut from Dunkin and another bottle of water.
For dinner: I had a gyro with beef/lamb and a couple fries with a bottle of water. Then I went to a cupcake shop and had a small cupcake and tiny ice cream (with magic shell) for my birthday celebration and drank another 8 ounces of water. I finised out the night with 2 “buttery nipple” shots and a glass of water! (Happy Birthday to me!)
Oh, and I walked ALL day so I am gonna say I put in a solid 3 miles (at least).

Saturday:
Breakfast: I had a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant ( I took off 1/2 the sausage and 1/2 the egg) and some fresh fruit on the side with water.
Morning snack – A “sex on the beach” and some popcorn (lol)
Lunch: 1 slice of pepperoni pizza and a coke.
Dinner: I had some mac n cheese and shrimp tacos with cabbage, salsa, sourcream, and cilantro with water.
Late night: 1 fruity mixed drink
I walked a couple miles on Saturday and danced for a good hour!

Sunday:
Brunch: I had a mixed green salad with grilled chicken, egg, grapes, carrots, blue cheese, and balsamic vinegar and olive oil with a croissant. Finished up with a small oreo cookie gelato. Drank a large bottle of water.
Afternoon snack: I had some buttered popcorn and pepsi at the movies.
Dinner: A small cup of cream of chicken soup and a blt on wheat with water.
Evening snack: 1/2 Leinenkugal’s Berry Wise Beer, 2 Amaretto Sours, and a 1/2 slice of pepperoni pizza
(Ok…so Chicago is officially a diet killer!!)
Monday:
Breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, bean salsa, tomato, fresh fruit and 1/2 stack of cinnamon pancakes with almond butter.
Lunch: Chicago Hot dog complete with tomato, pickle, peppers, and mustard, and a few fries with a pepsi.
Dinner: Fudge stripe cookies and bottle of water.
Snack on the plane: Honey roasted peanuts and a small ginger ale.
I walked about 2 miles on Monday (including toting my luggage up a freaking huge flight of steps)

Thank God that trip is over! Back to eating right!!

I’m workin it out!

So…Saturday I walked 5 miles. I walked 3 with Cortney at Steeplechase, walked/jogged 1 at Granberry park, and walked 1 more downtown during my birthday celebration. I did pretty good with the food on Saturday. I had a muscle punch smoothie for breakfast, a turkey sub from Jersey Mike’s for lunch, and dinner was a cheat and I had yummy spinach artichoke dip, lobster mac and cheese with flat bread, and 1/2 a turkey, pear, and brie flatbread and 1/2 a black and blue flat bread at Urban Flats!! YUMMY!! Sunday I didn’t stick to plan. Monday I watched my food partially. Today tuesday…I planned for success. I will update you on today later! Peace!!
